Adios BSU!

Casey is a college GRADUATE!! I'm having a hard time really believing it's over.  Looking back over the last few years I truly have an amazing husband. He worked extremely hard at school (Got straight A's), still found time to help me clean up the house, is an amazing father, and always spent time with me! I cannot put into words how proud I am of him.  If you're wondering what lies in store for us now...her goes.  Casey is still considering applying for police enforcement, now we just have to wait for some openings. He is going to continue working at Costco and hopefully, slowly begin to build his personal training business (out of our garage I might add. Yes, I have never parked in there!! :) ) Here are a few things I am looking forward too:
          1. Casey actually getting a day off!
          2. No more of me trying to convince him to watch a movie instead of study :)
          3. Not driving into Boise every day of the week (yay gas money!)
          4. No more finals, projects, or papers!

CONGRATULATIONS CASEY!!!!!

Water Baby

I am so happy to announce that Blake LOVES the water!! He splashes, floats, and doesn't mind one bit when water gets in his eyes.  Earlier this week we got to spend the day with Grandma Kathy at some hotsprings which were the perfect temperature for our little guy.  Later, he played with his bath toys (for the first time) and had a blast!

Teeth and Food

Blake has two teeth! They are VERY sharp and he thinks it's funny to bite mommy...mommy doesn't think it is too hilarious :)  If you look really close you can see an amazing shot of his very first one.

Blake is also becoming quite good at eating.  I made our very own baby food, but he does eat it better when it's mixed with rice cereal. Here are two videos. The first is Mommy feeding Blake, the second is Daddy. Does he seem more distracted in one?

Baby Dedication

Blake was dedicated on October 3rd, 2010.  We are looking forward to seeing how God is going to work in our little man's life and raising him to love the Lord above all else!
 We committed to the following:
  •  Be actively involved in our church family
  • Lead by example and do our own personal devotions
  • Eat meals as a family
  • Weekly family devotions/family night
  • Pray for Blake daily
We feel so blessed to have so many wonderful godly people in our lives to help us in our commitment to raising Blake (and future children) to love the Lord!

The Big Move

Yes...it's true. I have finally decided to move Blake to his own room to sleep.  In case anyone is wondering he is in his crib right now! There are many reasons to move a baby to his own room.
-Better sleep for him
-Better sleep for you
-They're getting older
-Actually getting use out of a baby room!
What was our deciding factor?
-He is too big for the bassinette! His head hits the top and he can't stretch his feet out.  Poor little guy seemed so uncomfortable!

I decided to throw in some pictures of Blake sleeping. Do you notice a pattern?

I try to take the blanket down and he has it back up before I get out of the room :) Makes me smile every time...after I check and make sure he is breathing of course!

What Timing!

Isn't there a saying that says "save for a rainy day?" Well our rainy days have just begun...just in time for my pay to be dropping.  YIKES! Two things happened, one good and one not so good.
 1. House is being appraised (which costs a small chunk of money). This is the good thing.  We would appreciate everyones prayers that the house will be valued high enough that we can refinance.  We REALLY need this to succeed!
  2. Caseys car broke down :( Obviously the not so good thing.  Fortunately it is only costing another small chunk to get it fixed.  Another prayer.....pray it makes it about 6 more months!

A Blessed Life

Being a parent is probably the best thing in the world.  For anyone who has known me for a while you know that I have always wanted to be a mom.  I've decided it is a 1000 times better than what I was expecting.  Our lives are truly blessed. Here are the top 10 things I am thankful for.

10. New running shoes (or should I say my feet are thankful!)
     9. A cute home that I get to paint any time I want
          8. A car that will fit Blake's stroller
               7. A bread machine that doesn't smoke!
                   6. Good friends that encourage me
                       5. Living close to both of our families
                           4. A hardworking husband who loves his family
                               3. Final school semester for Casey (The end is in sight!)
                                  2. Being able to stay home with Blakesters
                                      1. A loving God who I get to know better every day!

Here are a few things we have been doing the last couple of weeks

Play Time

This last week Blake has started noticing his toys. He is grabbing and cooing and just being a stud!

Blake also got some international play time with a group of Mongolian dancers Grandma and Grandpa Turner had staying at their house.  From what I could understand of them, they also think Blake is pretty much one of the cutest babies ever! Of course I'm not bias at all :)

Fun Summer Days

We can barely believe how big Blake is getting! It seems like just yesterday he was a tiny little guy now I can't help but call him "Mr. Chunk"! At 17 lbs he is quickly becoming the little man of the house.

Grandma Kathy and Grandpa Larry's House
The Green's invited us all out to ride the Swather (I have not idea if that's how it's spelled!) and to go slip'n sliding.  Brycen definitley had the most fun with the tractor....Jace actually rode it once!
Blake did get to sit in the tractor with Grandpa Larry.  Maybe when you're older you can learn to drive it!

But really Blake spends most of his time catching some zzzz's..................................

He slept for 8 1/2 hours last night. What a champ! Here's to hoping it becomes a habit :)

Week of Firsts

We just got back from our trip to Salt Lake to visit the Allen's.  Blake had a lot of firsts including:
                   First time seeing Uncle Jesse
First trip to Salt Lake to visit cousins Carter and Halle
                   First swim
First trip to the zoo being awake! (He really is awake!)
First time eating at Texas Road House (mommy's favorite!)

I also had a first today..........leaving Blake in the nursery! He did way better than me.  Even though I was only two rooms away it was a lot harder than I thought! I was sure I would never be one of THOSE moms who couldn't leave their kids, you know, the moms I always push out the door and tell them everythings going to be ok. Yep, that's me!  He was a champ though and slept the whole time.

Another first..............first dentist appointment in 5 years this week. YIKES! Hopefully all turns out well :)

Hello to the world of blogging!

Hey everyone! My sister, Heather, set this blog up for me and I'm actually excited about writing on it.  After watching the movie "Julie and Julia" I am also wondering..."Is anyone out there? Is anyone reading me?" Our life is way more exciting and interesting now that we have beautiful and wonderful Blaksters.  We are planning on going on a hike with the Allens tomorrow and Blake is going to have his first swim in the afternoon.  Big day! I'll have to post some pics of our adventures.
